FYI

When people volunteer they want to be:

  • challenged.
  • feel useful.
  • gain knowledge.
  • see results.
  • use their gifts
  • share their faith.

When people volunteer they don't want to:

  • be involved in poorly organized activity.
  • be left holding the bag.
  • be unsupported
  • be unappreciated.
  • be involved in power struggles
  • feel as if they cannot "get out."

People volunteer:

  • for personal growth.
  • for faith development.
  • for love.
  • to set an example for their children.
  • for the importance of the task.
  • to meet a need.
  • to spread the Good News.
