MUSIC MINISTRY:
Our goal is to disappear and
let Christ shine through.

Music is an important part of our life. We constantly sing or listen to it. Music accompanies us wherever we go. The same is true with respect to the life of the church, particularly Church's Prayer Life.

At Our Lady of Jasna Gora parish we are committed to provide quality and well done music during all our Liturgical celebrations, especially during the most important prayer of the church: the Eucharist.

As music ministers we believe that singing during all our celebrations is PRAYER. Our goal is not to impress or perform, but to lead each and every person through music to deeper experience of prayer and let Christ shine through. Those who "sing pray twice."

We do not believe that liturgical music is something we listen to; rather it is something we pray by singing together.

At the present time, we have a variety of musical styles and a broad repertoire ranging from traditional hymns, Polish songs to children and youth worship music.

DIFFERENT MASS DIFFERENT STYLES OF LITURGICAL MUSIC

Traditional Hymns accompanied by organ.
At the 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. music is more traditional, though we also introduced songs composed by contemporary musicians. Occasionally, we sing Polish songs and hymns. (for example, Immaculate Mary, Holy God, Amazing Grace, Czarna Madonno)

Children Choir (a more contemporary children music accompanied by piano and guitars)
At 10:30 mass (with exception to summer time) music and songs are suited more to our younger parishioners: children. We strive to make music relevant to all ages. Under the direction of Mary Pat Heelan we invite children to sing in the Parish Children Choir. ( for example, I Rejoice When I Heard Them Say; Mercy Is Falling; When All The Saints)

Contemporary Worship Music lead by the band.
The 5:30 p.m. youth mass you will hear a more contemporary worship music accompanied by drums, vocalist, piano, base guitar, acoustic guitar and other instruments. This music is more lively and less traditional, (though you would hear some traditional hymns with a little bit beat added to it). It is oriented more toward young people, though it reaches to people of all ages. (for example, Come Now Is the Time to Worship, Awesome God, Thy Word; All in All).

Adult Choir: directed by Mrs. Pamela Cross. The choir sings during bigger and major celebrations and feasts including Christmas and Easter, Confirmation and other celebrations.

Children Choir: directed by Mrs. Mary Pat Heelan. Children Choir sings at 10:30 a.m. mass during our children's mass. For major celebrations like Christmas children would join the adult choir to lead the congregation in singing.

Life Teen Band: Sings only at 5:30 p.m. mass. Occasionally members of the band would join the other choirs for major celebration (Christmas, Easter, and Confirmation).
