...Every human being has a great, yet often unknown gift
to care, to be compassionate, to become present to the other,
to listen, to hear and to receive.
If that gift would be set free - and made available, - miracles could take place...

Personal Spirituality

Developing a relationship with the Lord is at the heart of our faith. It is the foundation of everything else we do in the church, at work, and in our homes and neighborhoods.

Our Unique Call

So many terrible things happen every day that we start wondering whether the few things we do ourselves make any sense. When people are starving only a few thousand miles away, when wars are raging close to our borders, when countless people in our own cities have no homes to live in, our own activities look futile. Such considerations, however, can paralyze us and depress us.

Here the word call becomes important. We are not called to save the world, solve all problems, and help all people. But we each have our own unique call, in our families, in our work, in our world. We have to keep asking God to help us see clearly what our call is and to give us the strength to live out that call with trust. Then we will discover that our faithfulness to a small task is the most healing response to the illnesses of our time.

PASTORAL PLANNING IN CLUSTER 11

Strategic Planning Meeting of Our Lady of the Rosary and Our Lady of Jasna Gora took place this past Saturday, February 7, at Perkins School in Lancaster. The meeting was attended by 22 members of our two parishes. We would like to thank those who attended the meeting for taking time to continue to plan for the future of our parishes. The purpose of the meeting was to reflect on the last three years of our pastoral work as twinned parishes (both strengths and weaknesses) and to formulate ideas for the future.

We would like to thank Dr. Charles Conroy for his hospitality and willingness to moderate our meeting. Self-evaluation is only the beginning of the process and as we move forward we will continue to seek input of all the parishioners and share with you the results of our strategic planning.

In addition to our two parishes, each parish in our cluster is undergoing the same process as we try to find best and most effective ways to serve our Catholic community in our cluster.

Please, keep all our efforts in your prayers.

Fr. Tomasz and PPC members

PARISH STEWARDSHIP RENEWAL

"WE ARE ONE BODY IN CHRIST"

2008-2009

As we reflect on our past and our present needs, we begin to formulate our dreams and hopes for the future. This past year, we have come to realize more profoundly than ever what a great gift our parish family is to all of us and also what a great responsibility it is, especially in challenging times we live in.

The theme for our second Stewardship Renewal has been “WE ARE ONE BODY IN CHRIST.” These are unbelievable words. They remind us that we all need each other. We depend on one another as we share our gifts of time, talent and treasure. As different parts of the body have different purposes, so it is with us. Each one of us has a role to play in our parish community; a role that God has reserved for me and you only. No person can do everything, but everyone can do something. Together we can accomplish great things for the glory of God. (MORE)

FOR MARRIED COUPLES, ENGAGED COUPLES, FOR YOUR MARRIAGE: RESOURCES FOR LIVING HAPPILY EVERY AFTER FROM THE UNITED STATES CONFERENCE OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS: The Catholic Church cares about your marriage. In fact, the U.S. Catholic bishops are working hard to make marriage a priority (see National Pastoral Initiative for Marriage). Every marriage matters, because marriage comes from the hand of God. Every marriage matters, because marriage comes from the hand of God. God brings a man and a woman together to love and support each other. Their love becomes visible in the children they bring into the world and in their acts of generous service.

New Vatican City State Website... Check it out it is cool...

Vatican City is the smallest independent state in the world in terms of inhabitants and size. It occupies an area of 44 hectares. The borders are represented by its walls and the travertine pavement curve that joins the two wings of the colonnades in St Peter’s Square. Beyond the territory of the State, Vatican jurisdiction also covers some extraterritorial areas within and outside Rome.

The Benedictine Way of Life: St. Benedict who lived in the 6th
century makes simple yet profound points about life. His rule of life is filled with brilliant insights about how one may make an ordinary life a deeply fulfilling life. If you want to find fulfillment in your life and live best possible life, according to St. Benedict you have to make sure that you live in a thankful and balanced way.

A modern interpretation of the Rule of St. Benedict was written by John McQuiston II "ALWAYS WE BEGIN AGAIN - THE BENEDICTINE WAY OF LIVING." John who is a lawyer in Tennessee, rendered a beautiful interpretation of the main principals of the Rule of St. Benedict and made them applicable to a life of an ordinary person, like you and me.

Fall in love!

Nothing is more practical than finding God,
that is, than falling in love in a quite absolute, final way.
What you are in love with,
What seizes your imagination,
Will affect everything.
It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning,
What you do with your evenings,
How you spend your weekends,
What you read,
Who you know,
What breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.
Fall in love,
Stay in love,
and it will decide everything.

Fall in love with Christ; it will change everything.

Father Pedro Arrupe, the revered Superior General of the Jesuits from 1965 to 1981

The Symptoms
of Inner Peace:
A Possible Interpretation
of the Gifts of the Spirit

Some signs and symptoms of inner peace--
A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than
on fears based on past experiences.

An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.

A loss of interest in judging other people.

A loss of interest in judging self.

A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.

A loss of interest in conflict.

A loss of the ability to worry (this is a very serious symptom).

Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.

Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.

Frequent attacks of smiling.

An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than
make them happen.

And increased susceptibility to the love extended by others
as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.

Tease yourself often
Take a quiet walk

"After 50 - Spirituality Embracing Your Own Wisdom."

The Great Gift of Parenthood

Children are their parents' guests. They come into the space that has been created for them, stay for a while - fifteen, twenty, or twenty-five years - and leave again to create their own space. Although parents speak about "our son" and "our daughter," their children are not their property. In many ways children are strangers. Parents have to come to know them, discover their strengths and their weaknesses, and guide them to maturity, allowing them to make their own decisions.

The greatest gift parents can give their children is their love for each other. Through that love they create an anxiety-free place for their children to grow, encouraging them to develop confidence in themselves and find the freedom to choose their own ways in life.
