RENEW PRAYER

Gracious
God and Father,
 we are your people embraced
by your love. We thank you for your
presence with us throughout all time. Create us
anew through Jesus Christ, your Son. Liberate us from
all that keeps us from you. Send your Holy Sprit, enabling us to
recreate our world and restore justice. Heal us from every form of sin and violence. Transform us to live your Word more profoundly. Reconcile us so enemies become friends. Awaken us to the sacred. Nurture our relationships; enliven our parishes; reunite our families.
Fill us with joy to celebrate the fullness of life.
Empower us to be a community of love
growing always in your likeness by
 the grace of Christ
our Lord.
 Amen.

GOD IS IN OUR MIDST

Creator God, we praise and thank you for your constant love and presence in our lives, our parishes and our entire Catholic community.

As we plan for the future of our parishes may we be always aware of the gifts and blessings of our faith tradition and our individual baptismal call.

We remember your promise – “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in their midst. ”(Mt. 18:20)

As we journey in faith, we pray that

… our minds be open to the guidance of the Spirit,
… our hearts be open to embrace opportunities for spreading the Good News,
… our eyes be open to see the many ways we are called to witness Christ in our parish and in the broader community,
….our hands be open to serve those in need.

We pray all of this through Christ and in Christ. Amen.

Building and Grounds Minutes for meeting 2/13/7

Attended: Joe Grealis, Jeff Signor, Terry Cotton, Chuck Budnick and Bernie Walsh

Absent: Walter Bastow, James Salmon and Barry Whitney

Meeting began at 6:35 p.m.

Joe passed out a member list containing everyone’s tel. # and e-mails (doesn’t have Jim Salmon’s yet) and an agenda for the meeting.

It was agreed upon to wait until all members were present at a meeting before choosing a Chair and Recording Secretary. Joe has offered to take minutes until that time.

Responsibilities of the committee, outlined by the PPC were reviewed.

Terry stated she thinks all the properties should be independently appraised. Bernie agreed with the independent approach. Terry will provide a lists of appraisers at the next meeting. A discussion followed of property that was sold in the past by both churches, leaving questions as to where the property lines exactly were. Chuck, who is a surveyor, offered his services once the appraisals are done. Bernie presented to us Assessor Plans and tax appraisals of the properties that he obtained from Town Hall.

The cost of maintenance and janitorial services was the next subject. Would it be better to have one full-time position for both churches, as apposed to two part-time ones? This will be explored in the future.

Joe felt it may be to our benefit to look into who has talents in the trades within the churches and approached them, when needed, for volunteer work. It was agreed to come up with a list of potential tradesmen we could have for reference.

The PPC time line for a report, due March 31, was brought up. It is agreed this is to ambitious a time for a final report. Many of the duties assigned to us cannot be done until after spring thawing. A preliminary report on the directions the committee is heading in is more likely to be completed by the March 31 deadline.

Next Meeting: February 27, 2007 6:30 p.m. at Terry’s house (last house on Webster St.)
